He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
All around us people are hurting. Like seriously hurting; not the kind of hurting that your kid has an ear-infection again, kind of hurting. We have friends who are battling terminal illnesses, or their kids are the sick ones. We have friends who have been betrayed, and it really hurts when it does not come from your enemy. We have friends who are so lost, constantly searching for “happiness” in all of the wrong places and/or people. All of the while joy is right in their faces and they do not even see it.
There are days that I long for Heaven. My heart aches for it, and to be able to see our sweet girl again. To leave this sinful world behind and enter a perfect place that is amazingly perfect. But, then I think about all of those people that I mentioned earlier. I think of the lost, the hurting, the grieving, and I pray that somehow, someway, God would use me, use us, to pour into those lives and simply show them Jesus. As Christians, here on Earth, God calls us to love those who are hurting. I pray for these friends and I pray that the Lord can use us in mighty ways to give comfort, love, and His grace.
What a wonderful feeling to know that this world does not have to be the end. We have a beautiful eternity ahead of us. What a day, glorious day, that will be.
